Publishing PAW atomic data
This page describe the process of making new PAW data available to all visitors of the website.
When you're done adding a species, please ad it to the following list with your name:
- 001-H (Yann)
- 005-B (Yann)
Note: in order to be able to edit this page, you might have to "retract" it before, and publish it internally again afterwards. This is done by clicking on the "State" button at the upper right corner of the page. Do not publish it externally though, since it is not intended to be used by the public.
1. First, go to the PAW Atomic Data directory. To continue, you need to switch from View to Contents (see mouse pointer).
2. Then, go down to MAIN/ATOMICDATA/ by clicking on the folders listed. You will end-up in a situation similar to that shown on the right. Please note that the list may be split into several pages if it is too long, in which case you will see page links as well as a Show all items link at the bottom of the list.
Choose a species which has not been taken care of yet and click on the corresponding folder. Notice that there are 4 subtrees for each species. Click on the first folder.
3. Now starts the real work. On top of the file list, you will find a Select: All link (see mouse pointer). Click on it.
4. The selected files now appear on a yellow background. There are a few buttons at the bottom of the file list. One of them, on the right side, reads Change state (see mouse pointer). Click on it.
5. A new page appears, at the bottom of which you will find a list of states (see mouse pointer). Forget about the details for now. Select Publish externally, and click on Save. Go to the subfolder and repeat steps 3 to 5.
6. Once you have taken care of the files in the first subtree, click twice on the Up one level link, and repeat steps 3 to 6 for the 3 other subtrees.
Congratulations, you're done! Remember to put the species with your name on the list, at the beginning of the current page.
Last but not least, let us attract your attention on an interesting detail. So far, you have done things in a very simple but tedious way. That was necessary to understand the "gymnastics" of publishing content. But if you go back to the screenshot of step 5, you will see a checkbox labelled Include contained items, allowing you to recursively publish folders. Just keep this in mind when you want to publish a whole tree, and make sure as well that you really want to publish the whole content.
